Finding peace

Finding peace in a fast world

The speed of your lives has transformed from bullock carts to bullet trains very rapidly. The modern man lives through 100 times more experiences than what our ancestors used to. Your adaptable mind processes millions of terabytes of data more than what your ancestors used to. This overload of information has degrading effects on the overall quality of your thoughts. As a result finding peace in the modern day has become a pain in the brain.

People are so busy running that they never notice the little moments that make up this beautiful life. Earlier contentment was far easier to find, not because the world was any different, but people notice more in the little that there was. The abundance of information these days has lead to shorter attention spans as a result people skip through tasks without noticing the intricate details which constitute any give moment.

Finding Peace

How you spend your moments define how you end up spending your life. Without realizing the value of each moment, you will never understand the true value of your life.

The solution lies in how you approach any task. The fastness of life forces you to rush through your day making life very mechanical. But if you execute every task you undertake with complete awareness, you will perform it with a grace which will be unique to yourself. Rather than rushing through each task would be an experience which will enable you to add to the beauty of the world while finding peace at the same time.

Finding peace – Get off the Treadmill

Finding peace

Only the few who get off the treadmill and recharge, take a few moments from the chaotic madness to realign their mind end up being successful and finding peace in what they do. But for this you will have to get off the treadmill of busyness and give yourself a few moments of stillness.

Money, power and social pressures enroll you on a never ending rat marathon as you are born. This never ending rat race seldom allows you to look beyond the realms of stability. In the fear of being left behind in this race you fail to pause, in order to take steps necessary to finding peace. As you keep running at the mediocre pace in a mediocre race, your life is spent mindlessly and ends in mediocrity.

Don’t Slide, Customize

The sheep in the herd will look usual even if they are covered in gold, if you want to be more than mediocre you have to do more than you have been told.

The voices whispering in your ear never allow you to experience stillness. The voices in your ear are so perturbed themselves that they wont allow you to be still. It is only out of self realization, with time spent alone in stillness, will you be able to get rid of these common voices making you mediocre.

Finding peace

The difference between those who slide and those who customize is the same as between those who are content with the apparent good and those are willing to sacrifice the good for the great. It is very easy to get used to the fast life now because it doesn’t show any immediate tangible consequences. But, as these moments integrate over a period time, the time bomb you are sliding on explodes and out of nowhere you end up paying the price for your fast life.

Slow It Down – Be a cosmic contributor

You don’t need to head to the monasteries in Tibet and renounce the world for finding peace. You can slow down the speed of your life by being mindful of what you do till it gets ingrained to your sub conscious. Being mindful empowers you to completely occupy the present moment thereby ridding you of worries and fear. When you are free from these ailments everything you do carries a little magic with it. You become a cosmic contributor in your owl little way.

A good way to start slowing things down is by sitting still for 5 minutes every morning when you wake up and being grateful for what you have. This will set you on your way to finding peace and help you get off the right side of the bed every day.

As you move along and slow down your mind, it will start noticing much more of the world in any situation. This will empower you to see what others cant and feel what others never will. Finding peace in a fast life is difficult because you have to go against social norms, get rid f the herd mentality, but some rebellion is worth it.
