The changing concepts of change

Moments lost are moments irreversible as life is a dynamic process. The universe and you are in a state of constant change. While change is in itself a complete phenomenon for the cosmos, you have the ability to plan certain changes while living through your destinies, which have a plan of their own.

Every new moment bring about a new change in our cosmos, which appears insignificant to the ignorant and mesmeric to the enlightened. You are influenced by it directly or indirectly. The concept of time is the best example, with every passing moment you exhaust invaluable existence. Most of you don’t seem to notice it, others who do, utilize these moments bettering themselves, spreading love and helping others.

Other than being influenced, directly or indirectly, by the changes around you, you can initiate certain changes too. Humans have the ability to change the course of the universe by the changes they wish to make. At times these changes can be of a nuclear level at others you might just want to change your sleep pattern.

Nevertheless your need to pursue excellence is inevitable and you might doing gleefully rather than consequently.

Damage control or Pursuit

You either pursue dreams or change to control the damage that you have made to yourself over a certain period.

Both cases require you to initiate and sustain change. In the case of dreams you are benefited with inner motivation which keeps you charged. But in controlling damage your approach towards this change defines you are defensive and at times miserable.

When you wish to make a change in yourself, like eating healthy, going to the gym, quitting addictions, (damage control) you tend to initiate the change with a plan the source of which is negative.

When you are not in alignment all your plans to change initiate as a consequence and not a pursuit. Most modern day changes are repercussions of a certain bad habit, which have become noticeable enough so as to hamper the normal progress of your lives.

Once you uncover your ill habit or unblind yourself from your vice, you start feeling bad for yourself. You feel horrible to be in the state you are and this sparks of a frenzy where you seek instant changes and immediate solutions. These seldom lead to anything good. The negative state of mind at the initiation of the change deprives you of the energy to follow through with this change.

Following through with change

It is to be understood that your current state is an outcome of how you have spent the last 5 years of your life. You dint get fat overnight, or get addicted to alcohol, smoke or fried food overnight, or made a habit out of your addiction overnight. It took time for you to be this bad so it is obvious that it wont change for the good overnight.

While planning a change like weight loss, letting go of a bad habit, practicing mindfulness, what s most important is the state of mind. You cant expect anything good from a bad state of mind.

Accept your current state of being howsoever bad it might be, so that your approach to change is a positive one. This will grant you with an energy to outlast the million things stopping you from changing. Remember that the water will keep flowing irrespective of how happy or sad you are, change is inevitable, your approach to it will make all the difference.

Yes there is no end to you striving for perfection, but till the time you aren’t happy with the now, you will never be able to muster the courage and sustain your efforts for long enough in order to improve.

Take a break from finding faults in yourself, from complaining about your own shortcomings, from whining about what you don’t have, and wanting to live someone else’s life. Accept your life as it is, with all your flaws and imperfections.

Love yourself as the perfect combination of brilliance and blemish, a magical mix of fabulous and flaw, a fantastic fusion of divinity and desolation. Only then will you be blessed with the energy to initiate and sustain change for long enough to make a difference.

The changing concept of change  

In the bigger picture both your dreams and damage control both aim at achieving perfection. The battle for perfection rages on till the blood in your veins is warm. There are too many things that you want to be for you to be in one lifetime. You aspire a greater spectacle than you inhabit at any moment and you are willing to do anything to achieve it. This carries on till the end of time.

Change is an essential for you to chase these aspirations, you have to keep changing, evolving into a better you. It is like an emptiness you want to fill through achievement, with time both the reason for this emptiness and achievement keeps changing. The never ending loop demands perpetual change. You can either be in disgust with yourself and your current state, and approach change with a deflated mind and soul or you can recognize this need in good spirit and approach it with happiness that comes from being content.

Contentment is essential for change to be effective, otherwise you just keep chasing with a heavy heart, and even achievements aren’t celebration worthy, because there is always something new for you to chase.
