A 100 articles and I haven’t written one at all

article

It took me around 75000 words to understand that I hadn’t created one by myself. After the 99th article I was eager to do something major to celebrate the 100th one, yet nothing seemed to pass into thought. I had lost my ability to imagine when I became conscious of the impending milestone.

Conscious effort is the poison to imagination. When you think too much, you banish creativity and paralyze perception.

At the end of the day you are just bundles of energy, being used by the universal force to convey its messages. All you have to do is clear the the logical clutter from your brain.  Once you are successful in silencing logic, the universe starts talking to you. You cannot force this abundance as everything has a perfect time and place. You can either ignore the cosmic communications and chase material wellness and security or you can live in oneness with the universe and savor everything it has in store for you.

If you spend your time forcing the issue in order to create what you are not meant to, you are bound to be mediocre. The best thing mediocrity will make you is a slave, who is forced to be in a place where he doesn’t want to be, with someone he doesn’t want to see, doing something he doesn’t want to do.

This is the reason why you get tired working and complain through your weekdays and celebrate only on the weekends.

Had you been in harmony with the cosmic energy, you would not only know your real purpose, but possess boundless energy to pursue it with an effortless grace. You would never need to plan and scheme. Working towards your purpose would provide you more joy than stress.

The cosmic connection would render a blissful harmony to all your pursuits. You would connect to the universal conscious and utilize its abundant energy to push yourself beyond perceived limits.

Here are 50 people who are smart enough to have identified their purposes and worked on them for long enough so as to be gifted with effortless grace in their respective domains.

What Happens……

What happens when Kobe Dribbles, or when Shakespeare used to scribble,

Imagine the elegance in the movement and swerves, the relevance in every word.

What happens when Hamilton rides, or when Sachin used to drive,

Imagine the effortlessness in their demeanor, the intensity in their eyes.

What happens when Freeman talks, or when you see Bundchen walk,

With a grace so palpable, a dexterity which cant be taught.

What happens when Kai Green lifts, or when Dhoni hits,

With an instinctive ingenious, shredding competitors to bits.

What happens when David Blaine levitates, or when Buddha used to meditate,

In alignment with the universal force, destined to be great.

What happens when Eminem raps, or when Usain lights up the track,

Poetry in motion, expanding beyond preconceived limits, never looking back.

What happens when Jack Sparrow loots, or when Pele used to shoot,

One the master of golden chests, the other master of golden boots.

What happens when Maria Popova reviews a book,or when Jamie Oliver cooks,

Adding art to the most unexpected tasks, mesmerizing all who care to look.

What happens when Phelp dives, or when Bono lets his vocals slide,

Appears they were made for the specific art, divinity personified.

What happens when Messi controls, or when Arnold Palmer used to read the roll,

Such exquisite precision as if they decoded life’s secrets, which only a few can know.

What happens when Federer hits the back hand, and Fast car was sung by Chapman,

Standing ovations, all competitors and crows could do was clap hands.

What happens when Phil Taylor sees the dart board, or when Emilianenko saw his rival floored,

A focus so intense, far above the views of normal men they soared.

What happens when Bhagat clicks,  or when Dre produces them hits,

Lending their own touch to art,  redefining limits.

What happened when Sherlock Holmes used to deduce,  or Monroe used to seduce,

Breathing a fresher air into reality while others stood confused and bemused.

What happens when Steyn comes to bowl,  or when Bubka used to jump the pole,

Achieving uncharted heights, redefining their roles.

What happens when Caprio acts, or when Dynamo shuffles the pack,

Spontaneous like thunder clap, Natural like a lion attack.

What happens when Nicki Lauda used to rush,  or Van Gogh picked up the brush,

Surpassing excellence, all competition stood hushed.

What happens when Nolan creates or when Ari Gold negotiates,

They define fresher patterns of life which others try and imitate.

What happens when music is enhanced by Carl Cox, or when Ali used to box,

Floating like butterflies, stinging like bees,  craftier than a fox.

What happens when Craig Ferguson talks, or MJ moon walked,

A zone of their own,  creating an energy which uplifted thought.

What happens when Armani designs or when Alex Ferguson used to mastermind,

Creating legacies which will last till the end of time.

What happened when Napolean faced foes, or when Mozart composed,

Strategies and symphonies were devised, ones no one else could have supposed.

What happened when you heard what Martin Luther King used to say, or when Mother Teresa used to care,

A love from beyond dimensions, their efforts were divine like a prayer.

All these people seem to share the same qualities. They are the masters of their traits and perform extraordinary things with effortless ease. They have achieved greatness by honing their natural abilities and aligning with the force of the universe. They carry an electrifying spark which illuminates their surroundings, an awe inspiring energy capable of sweeping people off their feet.

It is not easy to possess such a God like aura. One has to let go of mortal inhibitions and connect to the force of the universe. This propels you to harness the energy of the universe and become representatives of this energy. Just like these extraordinary people.

I hope you give yourself the best possible chance to be extraordinary because it is the only way of immortalizing yourself till the end of time. Even if you are not chasing glory, the feeling of oneness with the creator is worth a lifetimes effort.

Slow it down

Slow it down

The franctic speed of life in an urban city leaves little time for logic let alone reflection. When you are not working you are busy travelling, when you are not travelling you are busy planning your travels. Weekends represent a break from the work but not from the travels. The little time that remains is dedicated to the trivial tasks of eating, sleeping and staying healthy.

The modern day urban city demands three quarters of your day, and lets you enjoy what remains. Enjoyment then comes in the form of short term highs, ephemeral indulgences, virtual appeasement, which burdens you with further stress, rather than releasing it.

The lifestyle makes it very easy for addictions to percolate into your identities and before you know it these addictions start supplementing pre-existing worries. Worrying about the next cigarette, the next drink,  the next drug, the next compliment adds to worrying about the next interview, the next meeting, the next train, the next bus, the next traffic jam.

In an urban city, you seem to climbing a mountain of worries, refreshing yourself with addictions and then worrying about them as you climb along. You have come too far to back out of your climb but what you can do is slow it down. Slowing down will empower you to nourish yourself throughout your climb and prevent you from picking up addictions which hamper your progress.

How to slow it down?

Slow it down

It is not the place which makes you run fast, it’s your greed which does. Your greed to make more money in a shorter time, to pack more fun in fewer moments, to procure stuff you don’t require.

By slowing yourself down you make yourself aware of yourself, your wants and your limitations. By slowing yourself down you conserve vital energy which can be put to use at the right place at the right time. You also protect yourself from letting things slide and become a victim of someone else’s plans or your own vices.

Here’s how you can slow it down:

1. Meditate– Meditation has been transformed into a really complex practice because of monetary reasons. Complexity seems to attract more attention and money. It appears worthwhile to spend thousands on meditation workshops and classes just because of the complexity involved. While in reality meditation really means connecting with your inner self. This only happens when you gradually learn how to live without so as to look within.

Silencing the million thoughts coming to your brain appears to be a herculean task but all you have to do is sit and let the brain trace its own path towards silence. The more you force it the further away you go from this blissful silence. Once you have silenced all thought, you will be able to sharpen your focus and instinctively start concentrating on the relevant while ignoring the unnecessary.

2. Exercise– It is debated that exercise is an addiction in itself, but for me it is a form of meditation. You don’t need to become the next Mr or Mrs Olympia, you can just do it to train your brain and body the art of self control, while simultaneously burning fat and stress. You can involve yourself in a number of activities, ranging from jogging ,swimming, participating in some sport, gyming, hiking etc.

All these activities help in slowing down your brain by redirecting your attention from work and travel to the particular activity you undertake. As compared to other addictions, this is the one which benefits you the most. By putting yourself among a circle of fitness enthusiasts you automatically enroll for healthy conversations and a healthy life, away from the saga of normality. Even if it is just a break from regularity, it offers comlplete relaxation which doesn’t harm you in any way.

3. Isolate- This is the toughest and most important part of slowing it down. Both Meditation and Exercise require you to isolate yourself from the herd. The herd being a majority has its ways of not letting you detach yourself. The fear of being an outcast doesn’t let you detach, abuses from the majority makes you retrace your steps back into the herd, short term perks blind you from long term benefits and you fail at all your attempts to isolate. As a result you acquire all the addictions and habits of the herd sooner or later surrendering your individuality and uniqueness.

When you isolate yourself, you move at your own pace, you make your own decisions and control the choices you make. Isolation has to be balanced because the society is significant in its own way. Take time to read, write, run, cook, observe, explore. You will find out things about yourself, which till now, have been camouflaged among the crowd.

Slow is progressive, Fast is confused

slow it down3

You might argue that it is foolish to be slow, that you will be left behind, that you will lose the race. But no one really knows the finish line, everyone is running in circles, looking at each other to make sense of their own lives.

Slowing it down to observe yourself and your surroundings will awaken your senses to secrets about your life which are hidden behind your false projections of stability. It will break your mental shackles which force you to lead a socially viable existence and empower you to be an independent and unique individual.

Slow it down because you are running, out of time, Slow it down because soon, you will be running out of time.

If you cant see Santa,be Santa

If giving back to the universe has to be professed, then our cosmos is bound to crumble,

Be someones Santa this Christmas, discover the joy in giving, and while doing so be humble.

Santa

For some its about the brightest and hugest Christmas tree sprinkled with shimmer and surrounded with splendid shiny gifts. For some it is about pastries and pies, chimneys and wine, family and care. For some it is about Santa coming to town with his bag full of goodies and good feelings. Yet there remains a major chunk of people for whom it is yet another day in the struggle for survival. Some of these are cold and hungry deprived of food and shelter, others cold and hungry with all the food and shelter in the world.

As you grow up you stop seeing the Santa around you, but if you understand life closely, life gives you this opportunity of being the Santa around you. You might not have a bag full of expensive gifts but you still have much to give. Affection for the ones unloved, a patient ear for the ones disgruntled, a smile for the tired stranger going back home, a pat on the back for the ones who feel unappreciated.

The gratification in giving

You grow up wanting, at times demanding. When you are grown up the gifts you want might change but the need to be gifted remains. This creates a void, a requirement for Santas for grown ups too. One who doesn’t only carry gifts but love and affection as well.

But the conditioning while growing up makes you expect things instead of contributing to the society for the gift of your beautiful life.

As the joy of receiving material pleasures are ephemeral, satisfaction leads to the death of this desire. Things you run after become ordinary when you get them, you never needed these things, they were just wants waiting to be extinguished by possession.

Whereas the pleasure of giving never ends. You are never satisfied because you always have someone to give to, someone to help. Hence the joy of giving is infinitely gratifying. If you nourish someone else’s soul by giving them what they want, you experience an overwhelming euphoria in response. This feeling is way stronger than any pleasure you may feel by possessing any material object.

Be the Santa

santa

The only way of rejoicing the spirit of mankind is by giving selflessly. A genuine smile scores over a calculated gift. You might be reluctant because no one else thought about you selflessly, but that shouldn’t stop you from being the initiator of endless cycle of selfless gifting.

Yes, the karmic cycle might work in a super complex manner for you to decrypt but it works pretty well. You don’t directly reap the rewards from where you put all your effort, your rewards come from different directions and forms.

Moreover if you focus on what you get in return you will never be able to enjoy the gratifying feeling of selfless giving. It takes a big heart to be a Santa to someone who is not related to you, someone you don’t even know. I mean why in the world would someone make the effort and that to for a stranger, but then we are all citizens of the same cosmic complex. All of us are connected by the same global conscious and this is the least you can do for your gift of life.

santa

The gloom that our world finds itself in, its impossible for one Santa to satiate all of its needs. the world requires multiple Santas. So activate the Santa within you and give whatever you can to the ones around you, and make this world a better place. When you give someone a reason to smile, you activate their Santa too, and they carry the chain forward till it comes back to you.

Merry Christmas, put a smile on a strangers face today and see how someone does the same to you.

6 ways to rally back

Life is one of those treasures you cant be too selfish with. You are born with an abundance of talents and time. These gifts are given to you by destiny, without putting any effort for them, so its most suitable that you spend them selflessly. If you intend to safeguard your share of resources till the end of time, you will still die in destitution. Choose to share your gifts with the world and you will find others who are willing to do the same with you.

rally4

Yes you will lose, you will feel dispirited and cheated. This will fill your mind with doubts and alter your perception of life and sharing. But if you let such situations take control of your mind you are more inclined to live a self centered life which will steal you from the mystic joy of benefiting others life. So, it becomes really important to rally back when the chips are down, to muster your mental troupes when you are being invaded with negativism so as to maintain the spirit of contribution.

Taking the blows and fighting back

Life might baffle you when you  least expect it, you might be at the top of your game at the pinnacle of peace but randomness will catch you off guard. The psychological implications of being pushed off the perch are very damaging. It feeds of your desire to succeed and relegates you to the pits of depression. This significantly affects your will to contribute as well.

rally

Maintaining ones sanity in times of distress and learning to rally back from defeats is more important now than ever. It is not the ones who punch the hardest, but the ones who can get punched hardest and still keep fighting who ultimately win the fight.

Our generation is a successful one, but success comes from taking risks and risks wont work in your favor all the time. At times the rub of the green wont go your way and your habit of success will be dented. You can choose to accept defeat and retreat, living an introverted lifestyle, or rally back every time you fail. Here are 6 things which will help you rally back:

1. Stop living as a consequence– Most people don’t look beyond the failure. They are so consumed by a loss that they spend their lives as a consequence. The first thing you have to do when you intend to rally back is to mute the noises telling you to rue your ill fate and missed opportunities.  With every passing moment you miss a chance to finally turn it around.

2. Don’t over glamorize a loss/failure–  Instincts might command you to have your plate full of sympathy when you lose or fail but instead of wasting time over glamorizing your loss you should utilize it trying to get yourself out of the whole. Yes it hurts to fall but don’t over dramatize this hurt as if the world has ended, seeking sympathy would impair your ability to rally back.

3. Don’t run with a broken ankle– Some of you want to get out of trouble too fast. You might sprain get your ankle sprained but you would want to immediately get back to sprinting and consequently injure yourself further . Your defeated mind craves immediate vindication this ends up with you inflicting further damage on yourself. Failure hinders with your capacity to think normally, you cant expect yourself to make important decisions under this trauma. You are better off recuperating your thought process using mental crutches before the next assault.

Rally

4. Steady steps instead of strides– To claw yourself out of the ditch of sorrow, you need steady steps rather than strides. Accept your mistakes, analyse your errors and enhance your skill set before you rally back. A stabilized strategy scores over a haphazard attack. Accommodate more variables than you previously did so that you don’t repeat mistakes. Approach every step with respect but without fear.

5. Rebound with unstoppable enthusiasm– Once you rid yourself from the hangover of the fall, its time to channelize all your energies and unleash all your energy in the pursuit of recapturing the lost glory. Strike your dreams with a force so powerful that the end products of such a blast, echo across eternity as tales and legends.

rally

6. You can fulfill your dreams but never fulfill your potential– At times when you lose you might think of it as a signal that you have accomplished enough. Never be fooled by this as you can fulfill your own dreams but there are a lot of other dreams you can help fulfill. Your potential is infinite, when you think you have surpassed your own dreams think about how you can contribute to the lives of others.

Your spirit is not meant to be caged and deprived of fulfilling its true potential. You might not win all the wars but if you are willing to rally back every time you fall you might just win this battle of life.

Have a good day!

6 ways to handle the super charged brain

Evolution has benefited us with millions of progressive adaptations since the beginning of time. Earlier we were only molded by nature but gradually humans created and adapted to changes for their own betterment. The printing press lead to a thought Rennaissance in the 15th century, the industrial revolution was another thought upgrade in the 19th century. Now, we find ourselves in the midst of another upgrade, a digital revolution, where perspectives are being molded, behaviors are being altered, and new ways of thinking developed and acquired.

Although the human mind has always adapted for its betterment, but in this latest phase of evolution, there are a few factors which indicate that all changes might not be productive. The advantages of the digital revolution and its impact on us has been immense but more and more cases of stress, exhaustion, lethargy along with physical disabilities surface as this evolutionary phase matures.

The Juggle trouble

The modern world demands the brain to be in a state of super charge all throughout. It has a constant supply of data for every waking moment. From the moment you wake up you are flooded with emails, messages, social media updates etc. The sheer volume and variance of this data leaves the brain no choice but to multitask.

brain

The day starts with receiving, analyzing and reasoning information from every sphere of life. These include emails about the next project, news and everyone’s opinions about these news, the smartest meme of whats trending, updates about an old friends engagement and his sudden celebrity status, the online monks posting pictures of positivism,  the deceiving pictures from a distant friends party, scores from the late night sports, these along with the remnants of the unnecessary conversation you had before sleeping and some candy crush requests.

By the time you get out of bed an hour later, you are decoding the mysteries of some of these stories while discovering newer ones. The breakfast seems to be a distraction to the above but you somehow manage to rush your way through it. Just like you somehow manage to rush your way through the rest of the day.

The brain tends to juggle many jobs at any point, the endless feed of information ensures that there is something more exciting lined up. This has resulted in a shortening of attention spans, where people seem to be bored too easily and want something new every moment. It has also lead to focuslessness, where the mind seems to wander for something better when you try to focus on an important task.

brain

Managing the Super charge

A state of perpetual super charge leads to exhaustion and illnesses, The need to control oneself is more now than ever. Only then will you be able to reap the benefits of the digital evolution and not be led astray by it.

Here are 6 ways to control your super charged brain and your lives in the modern digital setting:

1. Slow it down– The super charged brain will never rest until you make it, your environment encourages its super chargedness and if you let it slide, it will stay super charged and then burn you out. Take control of your brain and slow things down. When you slow it down, you tend to observe more, be more efficient and less distracted.

brain

2. Realigning focus– Distractions are more always testing your focus. They come in the form of the most alluring news that will change your life or the most anticipated message when you are doing the most important task. When you come across such a distraction, notice it and then let it pass. It will be excruciatingly difficult at the start like any other habit, but once you master it you will realign your focus automatically. It is impossible to not be distracted but realigning your focus is your most potent tool to combat distractions.

3. Choose and commit–  Controlling your urge to know everything and delaying it to a later time is very significant. You have to be able to consciously choose and commit to a task for long enough for it to accomplished. Sacrifice everything else which is less significant, when you commit to the task you choose. The energy of a super charged brain is being wasted if the effort is not sustained.

4. Be patient, anything substantial takes time– If you wait all your life for lucky breaks you will keep waiting. Anything substantial takes time and sustained effort. Your super charged brain will keep running helter skelter from one task to another without really completing anything and preventing you from doing justice to any. This will be detrimental to your chances of succeeding in the longer run. Go against the flow of the universe and re-inculcate patience. You will be better prepared to handle your super charge brain.

5. Indulge in more traditional hobbies- Your work, your play and most of your life is spent online, Traditional hobbies like hiking, cycling, playing outdoor games and swimming are too inconvenient when more entertaining and engaging things are a few clicks away. As compared to the more traditional hobbies the internet keeps your mind working at full throttle even when you take a break. Hobbies serve as an escape from usual activities, if you spend this time doing what you usually do they serve no purpose.

6. Digital Exile- Exile yourself from all technology for a specific time frame. This will enable you to re align your mind to whats necessary and refresh your super charged brain. This may be beyond the realms of possibility for some of you, and you might have all sorts of reasons to justify yourself, that signifies the extent of your technodependence.

The mind is forced to acclimatize to the vastness of data it receives every moment. Hence a super charged nature has to be maintained. Although it might enlarge the receptive paradigm temporarily but it causes multiple problems in the long run. Hence it has become a necessity to tame your minds so that they can function efficiently in the long run and focus on what is really important.
